Proficient in DOS, Microsoft Windows 95/98 and applications typically used with them.

• Provide support for customer needs in both operational and failure situations.

• Member of the network technical group, responsible for non-stop operations of EDS' Charlotte IPC-based WANs, reaching from Gaum in the Pacific to Munich, Germany, and from Alaska to Peru. This 24/7 network has Baudot, ALC, ASCII, IATA, Bisync, JES, SDLC, HDLC, TCP/IP, IPX, UDP and other protocols running on plant ranging from analog modems through IDNX, with IBM 3725 and 3745 FEPs, Cisco 75XX and 4X00 routers, Bay Network hubs and DSX. WAN technologies are point-to-point, multipoint, Frame Relay, ISDN, and dial up, over POTS, analog, T-1/T-3 circuits and MSDS. Duties include installing, and maintaining all components and circuits on 24X7 basis. Includes basic and high level trouble shooting using interface boxes, protocol analyzers, various meters and oscilloscopes, Bert/Blert test and amplitude/delay measuring sets.
• Perform product and technical evaluations of new equipment, such as modems, DSU/CSUs, Inverse Multiplexers, ISDN terminal adapters, and various remote access servers for integration into and enhancement of existing network infrastructures.
• Implement enhancements and changes for network operations. Proposed rearranging remote access multipoint circuits to save $450K/yr. Restored international circuit to Venezuela following AT&T's loss of a submarine cable station by negotiatiing AT&T and Telefonos de Venezuela into rearraging their international digital plant on an alternate route.
• Mentor newer and less experienced staff in methodologies for network operational continuity.
• Maintain currency with emerging WAN technologies.

• Designed, provisioned and implemented new 24/7 digital data network for HSG's nationwide hospital services. Led carrier selection processes. Introduced use of RFPs for discrete service provisioning orders, creating detail documented competition/performance measurement of common carriers among AT&T, MCI, Cable & Wireless and Metromedia.
• Pioneered use of CLEC's and colocation of network elements across the nation. First colocation customer of CLEC's in Chicago, Denver, Dallas and Houston. Created CLEC colocation contract standards. Supported CLEC's in setting environment and service procedures for colocation. Led the HSG team in implementation project using the new specs.
• Hosted CLEC fiber terminal in FDC's premises to great home office advantage in Charlotte.
• Documented $500K savings each and every year as a result of WAN improvements; work that was documented in several trade publications.
